WILD WEDNESDAY

Today during class, I started visiting the web pages of some colleges I am interested in attending. For example, I spent some time reading the requirements that a high school student should met at his/her Jr year in order to have a good Senior year previous to College. I also read an article that explains how to pick the right scholarship for me.Today was the first Cake Wednesday since the beginning of the year and I think we all take advantage of the good opportunity he have to start thinking about our future and life after high school.

Gatsby - Chapter 7 Notes

In this chapter, we found out that the only purpose of the parties was for Gatsby to get Daisy's attention. Gatsby has fired all of his servants and replaced them with other formerly employed by Wolfsheim. Daisy has begun visiting Gatsby in the afternoons. Daisy invites Gatsby, Nick and Jordan to her house. Once there, Tom realizes that Daisy is in love with Gatsby. This makes Tom angry and he is waiting for a good moment to face Gatsby. After the luncheon, they decide to go to the city, New York city.  Once they are heading back to West Egg, Nick, Jordan and Tom see that Myrtle was hit by a car in the valley of ashes. When they get back to West Egg, Nick talks to Gatsby and Gatsby tells Nick what happened. Daisy was driving the car that hit Myrtle.

Gatsby Chapter 6 Notes

The Great Gatsby - Chapter 6 A Newspaper man from the city has heard about Mr. Gatsby and his mysterious identity. He wonders about his past. In this chapter, Nick tells us the truth about Gatsby's past. Apparently, Gatsby lied about everything. Gatsby was born with the name of James Gatz. He decided to be called by Jay Gatsby later in his life. He did not grow up wealthy, he grew up poor.  Daisy is extremely certain that Gatsby's money came from drugstores, but we are still not sure. Nick cautions Gatsby that he can't repeat the past.  Gatsby is not buying it

Gatsby Chapter 5 Notes

At the beginning of this Chapter, Nick returns to his house after visiting with Jordan and sees that Gatsby has turned on every light in his house and he is walking over to visit Nick.  Nick tells Gatsby that he will invite Daisy for tea and the two agree on a time. Gatsby offers Nick a Business opportunity, but Nick declines and assures Gatsby that he is making the invitation as a favor and wants nothing in return.  Nick calls Daisy the next day and asks her to visit, but not to bring Tom. Daisy agrees. Gatsby becomes obsessed with making everything perfect for the meeting.
